On 6 November 2025, we did a handover at Easter Peak Primary School in Manenberg, where we handed over 300 packs of pads as well as 2 sanitary pad dispensers.
We presented the Pads of Hope Foundation to approximately 100 girls aged between 10-14 years old. Here we learnt that most of these young girls have not experienced their first period yet, let alone having had a conversation about it yet with their peers or at home. Many of these girls expressed a feeling of embarrassment when it comes to talking about period, however many of them opened up and asked their burning questions about periods.
At the end of the session, we learnt that many of them now feel that they no longer need to feel embarrassed, thanks to the Pads of Hope Foundation breaking the stigma and starting the conversation around it.
The oversight and management of the pads at the school will be headed by our Project Director, Jaydean Adams, who is an educator at the school.
