DIGNITEENS - An initiative by Pads of Hope Foundation in partnership with Muslim Hands South Africa.

When Pads of Hope Foundation initially launched in October 2025, our vision was simple: that no girl is left behind because of her period - that dignity and opportunity is within every girl's reach.

Our mission statement at the time included the provision of sanitary pads AND the provision of menstrual health education - the latter of which we were uncertain about at the time. However, through our work and engagement with learners during the launch period, we quickly realised the educational part was a dire need.

As the partnership opportunity with Muslim Hands South Africa ("MHSA") was being explored, only then we realised how fundamentally important the educational aspect is to the success of the work we do.

The Digniteens initiative is a structured 6-week educational programme, aimed at girls in Grades 4-7, delivered once a week, by trained female facilitators. At the end of the 6-week programme, the girls would graduate from the programme, and is left empowered with knowledge, confidence and motivation - in their pursuit of education.

This is not simply a donation programme. It is an investment into the wellbeing, confidence and education of young girls - who will become leaders of the future.

Most importantly, it is through the collective efforts of the schools (leadership and learners), Pads of Hope and Muslim Hands, that this initiative will be a success.

This is only the beginning!
